 It has been kind of quiet here over the last few days, so I was hoping to spark some activity again.

And since it is Valentine's Day, I thought it would be fun to talk about some of the loves we have in otomes.

So, comment down below about either your first otome loves, or current loves.

Heck, even comment or rant about some of the baes you've hated like a bad ex you're finally free from, if you want. We're not here to judge.

For me, on a technicality level, my first otome love was through youtube playthroughs, since that's how I was introduced to otome in the first place. So, that would technically mean that Okita from Hakuoki was my first otome love, technically speaking. But if we're going with games that I've actually played on my own, then that would have to go to Jieun from Dandelion.

Most current loves would have to be Masamune and Hideyoshi from Ikemen Sengoku.

And as for otome 'exes', the most recent one I can think of is Sirius from Ikemen Revolution. Normally a character type that I usually like, plus a very familiar VA that I liked, but too many elements rubbed me the wrong way and I ended up more and more angry the closer I got to the endings. I'm still mad that I'm gonna have to do it again so I can get his Dramatic Ending too >>;

I think either Magical Diary or The Confines of the Vrown was my first. The most memorable LI of which would have to be Damien from Magical Diary. I was totally suckered! Horribly betrayed! It was a lot of fun as a route, even if I would not want him as an actual boyfriend ;)

In terms of LIs who aren't terrible people, Jiwoo from Dandelion is probably my fav. I had initially tried badly to romance one of the other characters, then decided well, Jiwoo is so mean, I can just be mean back and it will be funny. And it was! And then I ended up really liking him. He secretly writes romance! Has opinions on the economic situations of kdrama heroines! Has his own inferiority complex! And then I cried at the ending ;-; It was a long time ago that I played, but I still think he is probably my fav.

I remember liking Jiwoo too, when I played Dandelion. And his endings that was also really sad.

I mean, pretty much all of Dandelion's endings were sad, but I remember Jiwoo's being particularly so. Why can't anyone be happy in Dandelion's universe? ;_;

I think my first Otome love was Ellen from Magical Diary. Right now my heart belongs to Victor from Code Realise.

I got into the genre through Hakuoki, and I did Okita's route first and loved it. I just went to redo it and I'm really struggling, I'm a new-ish foster parent and the way the route shows the enduring trauma of Okita's childhood as more or less a foster child is really hitting home. Not that it makes the route bad, it's *good*, but hard.

Most recent: I liked Oscar's route in Confines of the Crown. I did his route first and unfortunately that made it hard for me to really appreciate some of the other routes, because I just kept wanting her to be with Oscar.
