Since Hakuoki/Hakuouki is the game of the month I am going to take this as an excuse to talk about my favourite dating sim. I didn't think I'd like it at first, since I'm not usually into samurai stories, but something about the depth of the characters and story and all the sexy vampirism really grabbed onto me.

I have since made a concerted and largely unsuccessful attempt to drag my followers into vampire samurai hell with me. Here's an introduction post I made which describes the games and other media, and has a guide to the characters. And here's all my reaction posts, which started out with me laughing at how unexpectedly weird the game got and then quickly descended into entirely sincere appreciation, though I still post the odd WTF screenshot. I've done all the main routes and most of the bad ends, and have been told the posts are a lot of fun even for people who haven't played the game.

And then I got inspired to make a bunch of art, fic and comics. The thing I am most proud of is A Braid of Bamboo and Steel, which explores how things might have played out if the main character was a trans woman.
