Cinderella Phenomenon, which appealed to me because I love stories in which, some years after a great war, people deal with its consequences. So far I'm not loving it, mostly because I don't like that the protagonist and her mother keep being called awful when it seems to me that thinking that everyone is out to get you is an entirely reasonable response to what was basically a genocidal war against witches based on false stories about them. I also generally don't like the Evil Mother trope. But I'm willing to see how things develop and hope that there's more nuance. I'm halfway through Karma's route because he appealed to me most.

Yes I got put off by the demonisation of the protagonist, and a friend who played a full route said she didn't like how it was handled overall.

I played through Karma's route and it didn't really get better. In Rod's route it did seem better - it felt more like the protagonist's family was being held accountable for their part in the problem. But the 'witch hunt' backstory still got dropped, and if a canon is going to give me a genocidal war in the backstory I want to see it dealt with. I liked Rod's romance better than Karma's but didn't like how it ended. Still debating if I'm going to try another route, maybe Waltz's because it is supposed to deal with the backstory the most.

Meanwhile I just started Confines of the Crown and am liking it...thank you for the rec!

I'm currently playing Ieyasu's birthday story event in Ikemen Sengoku. Haven't played his main story yet, but through the events I've played with him thus far, he's starting to grow on me. Probably won't get the full clear, but I am gonna see if I can get the bear for your shoulder, since I love those!
